The dynamics of Exhaustion and Recuperation

The Typhoon software

C. Dauwe D.Sc.

Typhoon, the application that offers an analysis of acute anaerobic exhaustion and recovery can be used as a
web based application for the analysis of races and
training sessions, but is also included as a widget in the SuperCycle application.
It provides static and dynamic displays of the anaerobic energy balance, respectively.

As Web Based Application

Five best power values (2’, 5’, 10’, 20’, 40’) underlie all calculations.
After entering the power file from the race or training session, Typhoon graphically displays
the dynamics of the anaerobic energy reserve, shows the ECP parameters, 3 performance scores and the performance in different zones.

As a widget in SuperCycle

The same five maximum power tests underlie the calculations.
Either enter the reference values manually or let SuperCycle search for these values in its database.
As soon as the effort starts, the widget automatically shows the progress of the anaerobic reserve, the % VO2max and the 3 load scores.
