Graduated from the State University of Ghent in 1977 with a master's degree in Physical Education.

Former member of the trainers committee within the BOIC.

Ex trainer of Wanty Groupe Gobert Professional Cycling Team.

22 years trainer at the cycling school of Ostend.

8 years Olympic coach of the Belgian kayak team.

2 Olympic Games, 7 World Championships, 2 European Championships and 28 World Cups are on his record as a kayak coach.

A silver medal at the World Pursuit Championships and several Belgian Champions and record holders from various disciplines are also his.

He first came into contact with power measurement while writing his thesis in 1977. Power measurement on a bicycle already came to his attention in 1989.

In 2012, his book "Trainen op vermogen" was published, the second edition was published in 2014 and the third edition in 2018.
